Why did you choose Division of Biological Science at NAIST?

My background study in Biotechnology has firstly driven me to deepen my knowledge in Molecular Biology field. As this division offers integrated program where students could take part in integrated subjects, it allows me to explore my interest not only in Molecular Biology but also Bio-nanotechnology as well as Bioinformatics. This is definitely an excellent exposure as students could discuss or share their research with each other and widen their connection for future collaboration.

What do you like about Division of Biological Science at NAIST?

This division comprises of excellent facilities and equipment to conduct Life Science research. Despite of having language gap, staff are very supportive in ensuring a productive and conducive research atmosphere.

What is your research topic?

I study about protective mechanism named Unfolded Protein Response in the yeast. This mechanism help to restore cellular function by correctly fold abnormal proteins and initiate protein degradation.

How is the atmosphere in your lab?

Very good. Everyone is supportive and helpful. There's also discussion when students encountered problem in their research.

What are your goals for the future?

To contribute to the society in academic field and inspire youngsters to pursue science.

What are your tips for enjoying life at NAIST?

Make friends, learn new culture and enjoy the moment!

How comfortable is the dormitory?

Comfortable and just a walking distance from the campus.
