Detail

Embryonic stem cells (ESC) are a unique model of basic and applied  research. The chicken embryonic stem cells (cESC) represent an  original model system as a non mammalian one and show a unique  interest in Developmental Biology and Biotechnology. Understanding the molecular mechanisms that control pluripotency and germline competency is therefore a priority objective. Having developed the in vitro culture system of cESC over the last past years, we are presently engaged in the project of establishing a control network of pluripotency of these cells and of identifying the molecular  mechanisms that govern their germline competency. Both aims led to the identification of molecular actors that are presently functionally tested in vitro and in vivo.
