Education Curriculum

Seminar for International Workshop Planning

This workshop is open to D2 doctoral students at the Division of Biological Science. During the workshop, attendees discuss research in English with visiting students from the US and China. This experience allows the students to practice their English communication skills, which are essential for a career on the world stage.

By interacting with talented graduate students of the same generation from abroad, the students, in addition to learning about the subject matter, discover the differences and commonalities between Japan, America, and China in relation to situations surrounding scientific research, education, and future visions, and develop cross-cultural awareness and global fluency. To help achieve these goals, each attendee is assigned to a mixed group of roommates (with members from Japan, China, and America) and English is used as the language for all conversations and presentations. Attendees board and dine together for a week, communicating in their common language.

※From FY2018, Seminar for International Workshop Planning includes Bio International Student Workshop.
