Comment from Dr. Matsuda

Our study identifies Zbtb38 as a key transcriptional regulator that promotes cell survival by directly activating XIAP expression. These findings provide new insights into how apoptosis is regulated during embryonic development, cellular differentiation, and cancer cell survival. We hope that further investigation of the Zbtb38–XIAP regulatory pathway will deepen our understanding of cell fate determination and contribute to the development of new therapeutic approaches for cancer and regenerative medicine.
