Molecular Immunobiology

Please tell us about your own research and what you find interesting about it.

We’re studying innate immunity. Focusing on the molecular mechanisms of innate immune responses to viruses and cancer, we aim to develop vaccines and elucidate the mechanisms of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases caused by immune breakdown.

Please tell us about the difficulties and joys of the research field.

In a natural environment, we’re quietly and happily conducting research with students every day.

Please tell us about the expected results and social significance of the project.

Immunity is associated with various diseases such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic diseases, in addition to infectious diseases. Learning about immunity is an aspect of elucidating the pathology.
