NAIST EXPO 2025 was held on Saturday, September 27.
This year marks the third year since the event was renamed “NAIST EXPO.” Following last year, the event once again featured popular food trucks from well-known restaurants and a flea market, as well as new attractions such as a collaborative event with the Keihanna Expo and a photo session with Takumi Yobinori, a popular YouTuber.
In addition, each division held "hands-on programs" to introduce the possibilities and joys of science to a wide range of people, from children to adults, in an easy-to-understand manner, and those who had pre-registered visited NAIST and got to experience cutting-edge science and technology.
In the Division of Biological Science, two hands-on programs were offered this year:
“Exploring the Secrets of Yeast, the Microorganism that Makes Bread,” and
“Let’s Extract DNA!”
Additionally, the division showcased “glowing plants”—an exhibit that had also been featured at the Expo—which require no external power source. "NAIST Bio Alumni Volunteer Booth" was also set up, allowing casual conversations with participants about their research and student life at NAIST, their subsequent progress after graduation, and their relationship with society.
In the first-floor lobby of Biological Science Building, several labs introduced their daily research activities and achievements by displaying panels.
In addition, this year we held a "Admissions Information Session" for those who plan to enroll next year, as well as a briefing session on entrance exam and a consultation session on graduate school admissions for prospective students, where students eagerly asked questions about specific research topics and entrance examinations, and received advice directly from the faculty members.
Blessed with beautiful weather, "NAIST EXPO 2025" was filled with excitement and ended successfully.
