Why did you choose Division of Biological Science at NAIST?

For me, Biology at NAIST was originally described by lecturers when I was still a biology student at IPB. BJL and RIA are two lecturers in the biology department of IPB who are alumni of NAIST biology. Many of his works and skills during his time as a lecturer at IPB inspired me and made me like biology even more.

The opportunity to continue studying biology at NAIST started with the NAIST Pre-screening Internship program in 2022. I got information about the program from an announcement given by my former campus, IPB University. Participants were selected based on document selection. Selected participants can take part in the internship program in January 2022. The program activities include assignments, presentations and interviews in three labs chosen by the participants for one week. I am very grateful to be selected as a participant of the program and on the last day of the program an announcement was announced that I did not expect, where the program was intended to select candidates for graduate students in biology in 2023. Luckily, I was selected as a new student candidate in biology, to be precise, I was accepted by Prof. Ko Kato sensei to join his bioengineering lab.

In short, "I take a chance, maximize it and bear fruit by the unexpected".

What do you like about Division of Biological Science at NAIST?

What are your tips for enjoying life at NAIST?
