We welcome new people to work with us

Biological research is currently undergoing a major transformation. Although methods from molecular biology and genetics will undoubtedly remain essential, leading laboratories are seeking to integrate advanced analytical techniques and interdisciplinary collaborations, such as single-cell omics, live imaging, information science, mathematics, and artificial intelligence.

These new technologies and interdisciplinary approaches not only provide solutions to previously intractable problems, but also broaden the scope of biological research by uncovering new phenomena. Our laboratory incorporates such new technologies and interdisciplinary approaches to advance research in plant developmental biology by collaborating with external researchers and students.

In our lab, all staff members work together to follow the progress of each student’s project through biweekly meetings and advise on experimental problems or future directions. We also provide students with opportunities to acquire the necessary knowledge through the meetings and journal clubs. Our research is currently funded by multiple large-scale consortium projects. These consortia offer students and early-career researchers the chance to broaden their horizons and interact with students and researchers from other institutions who share similar scientific interests or career goals. Our lab provides an environment where prospective young generations can acquire cutting-edge research skills and develop a challenging attitude towards fundamental biological questions.
