In order to establish sustainable society, we are interested in generation and utilization of plant, which are useful for bio-remediation and production of food energy. Based on the omics information from model plants, we are studying molecular mechanisms controlling plant cell differentiation, post-transcriptional and post-translational expression, stress tolerance, and flowering. Moreover, we are also trying to apply these findings to crops and trees, cooperating with other institutes and private companies.
Our laboratory engages in research and education pertaining to the biotechnology needed to resolve the issues facing human beings in the 21st century, such as food, the environment, and energy.
